Terms of Service

1. The agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and SmartPrinter.ink ("SmartPrinter", "we", "us"), a software company operating from the United Kingdom. By creating an account, installing our apps or using smartprinter.ink (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.

2. The Service

SmartPrinter provides applications, drivers and cloud services that connect phones, tablets and computers to printers — including printing, scanning, label creation, ink monitoring and remote (cloud) printing. The Service works with third-party printers; we do not manufacture printers, and availability of specific features depends on your printer's capabilities, firmware and network.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the digital-consent age in your country) to create an account.
• Keep your credentials confidential — you are responsible for activity under your account.
• Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Tell us immediately at i@smartprinter.ink or hi@smartprinter.ink if you suspect unauthorised use.

4. Subscriptions & billing

The core Smart Printer Scanner App is free. Optional SmartPrinter Pro features are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions:

• iOS — billed through Apple In-App Purchase to your Apple Account. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (reportaproblem.apple.com).
• Android — billed through Google Play Billing to your Google account. Manage or cancel in Play Store → Payments & subscriptions. Refunds follow the Google Play refund policy.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current paid period runs to its end.
• Prices are shown in your local currency in the store before you pay and may change with notice; changes apply from the next renewal.
• Consumers in the UK/EU: you consent to immediate delivery of digital content and acknowledge the statutory 14-day withdrawal right is exercised through Apple or Google, per their store policies.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service to print, copy or distribute material that is unlawful, infringing or counterfeit (including counterfeit labels, barcodes, tickets, currency or identity documents);
• access printers or networks you do not own or lack permission to use;
• reverse-engineer, decompile or resell the Service except where the law permits;
• probe, disrupt or overload the Service, or bypass its security or usage limits;
• use the Service to send spam or to violate anyone's privacy or intellectual-property rights.

You are responsible for the content you print. We may suspend accounts that breach this section.

6. Intellectual property

The Service — including our apps, engine, designs, text and branding — is owned by SmartPrinter and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the apps on devices you own or control, for their intended purpose. Your documents remain entirely yours; we claim no rights over content you print or scan.

7. Apple & Google platform terms

When you download our apps from an app store, that store's terms also apply:

Apple App Store

• The iOS app is licensed under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (standard EULA) unless we provide a custom one, and your use must comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
• These Terms are between you and SmartPrinter, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
• Apple is a third-party beneficiary of section 7 and may enforce it. In case of the app's failure to conform to a warranty, Apple may refund your purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government restricted-party list.

Google Play

• Your download and use of the Android app are also governed by the Google Play Terms of Service.
• We build and operate the app in line with the Google Play Developer Program Policies (including the User Data and Families policies where applicable).
• These Terms are between you and SmartPrinter, not Google. Google is not responsible for the app or its content.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". While we work hard to support 12,000+ printer models, we cannot guarantee that every feature works with every printer, firmware version or network configuration. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms affects statutory consumer rights that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law: (a) we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profits, data or goodwill; (b) our total liability for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of £50 or the amount you paid us for the Service in that period. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time in the app or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, unlawful use, or where required by law — with notice where practicable. Sections 6, 8, 9, 10 and 12 survive termination.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales — except that consumers retain any mandatory protections and forum rights of their country of residence.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. For material changes we will give at least 14 days' notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.
